For this reason, at SOTRAFA, we are taking another step forward in our commitment to sustainability by obtaining the Operation Clean Sweep® (OCS) certification, accredited by AENOR. This certification endorses our environmental responsibility and reinforces our support for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), marking a milestone within the plastics industry.
The OCS programme focuses on implementing the best cleaning and control practices to prevent the loss of pellets, flakes and plastic dust in all handling operations. By doing so, we minimise microplastic pollution in the environment, helping to protect both marine and terrestrial ecosystems.
SOTRAFA is currently the only manufacturer of agricultural film and geomembranes with this certification, which represents a key differentiating element in the market. This certification, which will be subject to internal and external audits, guarantees that our company adopts sustainable practices and adequate control measures, such as containment systems, cleaning procedures, training of our employees or improvements in our infrastructure, thus reinforcing our contribution to a cleaner and healthier environment.
